Nathan's novel The Dewey Decimal System (available now!) is published by Akashic Books and set partly inside The New York Public Library.  Nathan is best known as an award-winning film music composer, having created the scores for over thirty movies, such as Boys Don't Cry, Dirty Pretty Things, and The MessengerIn the 1990s, he was lead guitarist for the seminal indie rock band Shudder to Think and toured with bands including Fugazi and The Smashing Pumpkins. Currently, he plays in the band A Camp, also featuring his wife, Nina Persson of The Cardigans. They live in New York City with their son.
